“Black Tie Romance” The wedding of Melissa and Sean – June 19th – Waldorf Astoria – Orlando

Melissa and Sean’s wedding was held a the new Waldorf here in Orlando and was nothing short of elegant. We had tons of fun capturing all of the fabulous details. From her glamorous Reem Acra gown right now to the shoes…it was all beautiful. Melissa was accessorized with just the right amount of jewelry and topped everything off with an old hollywood bird cage veil. The ceremony was decorated with gold chiavari chairs with candles lit throughout. Everything was held indoors after a smart call was made by the E-Events team to bring everything indoors. Just after the wedding ceremony ended, the skies opened up and a huge thunderstorm blew thew….It was pouring! It didn’t shake Melissa and Sean because they were so happy and excited to be married! Guests enjoyed cocktails while we photographed Melissa and Sean’s portraits. Lisa led them into the ballroom to unveil what they had created and the look on their face was priceless. Luscious pink flowers and hydrangeas provided by Botanica, were pouring out of crystal candelabras. Gold linens and deep pink uplighting finished the room to result in absolutely an exquisite atmosphere. The band was cued and as guests walked in, Melissa and Sean took the dance floor. “Sweet and Spontaneous” The wedding of Christy and Travis – June 13th – The Ritz-Carlton Orlando

Truly such a fabulous couple that I have gotten the pleasure to have gotten to know and becomes friends with! Christy and Travis couldn’t be more of a laid back couple….All is right in their world. They had an intimate ceremony and dinner at the Ritz-Carlton here in Orlando. Christy wore a stunning Badgely Mishka gown with a beautiful bouquet of lavender roses. Simple and sweet. Travis and his groomsmen wore gray suits with pale pink ties with a lavender rose on the lapel. Their ceremony was lovely underneath an outdoor gazebo with pale sheers blowing in the breeze. Travis incorporated a wonderful poem by E.E. Cummings that I thought was one of the most beautiful poems I’ve ever heard. After the cake was cut, Christy , Travis, and their guests sat down for an intimate dinner consisting just of close friends and family. The sun was setting outside and I can definitely say it was the perfect ending to capturing their wedding. Love you two!! xoxo – Abby

“Coastal Charm” – The Wedding Story of Miriam and Mark – June 12th – Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

One of the biggest gifts about my job is hearing about how important memories are to my couples, and being able to portray them in photographs. This is true about Miriam and Mark and their family. It feels SO good when you feel the appreciation from them. I cannot say enough about this wedding. From the stunning dress to the charming Southern scenery, Miriam and Mark’s day was nothing but pure happiness. I was honored to be a witness to it. I began documenting Miriam and Mark’s weekend wedding extravaganza on Friday at the rehearsal dinner. Miriam looked fabulous wearing a stellar kelly green jumper (which was actually her Mother’s rehearsal dinner outfit…funny how things come back in style through the years). And I must say that Miriam’s Mother, Janie (one of my favorite people of all time), looks like she could be Miriam’s Sister…Just sayin’. The rehearsal was filled with lots of speeches and what was unveiled to me throughout that evening was seeing how many close friends that made throughout their years and also how loving both families are. So important, they are truly blessed.

Saturday, Jessica, Amanda, and I met all the ladies at their beach house and began photographing details. I headed straight to photograph the dress and shoes….my favorite! Miriam’s dress was an exquisite Vera Wang and probably one of the most beautiful gowns I’ve ever seen. And on her ballerina body…it fit like a glove. Gold metallic Jimmy Choos added to her amazing look and finally, the necklace her Great Grandmother, Grandmother, and Mother wore on her wedding. So perfect. The ceremony was held at Christ Episcopal Church and reception at The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. The decor was beach chic with a modern twist. Guests were greeted with, sweet tea cocktails, ahi tuna bites, crab cakes, and southern shrimp to name a few, and enjoyed mingling with one another while the Calypso band played in the background. Tables with lucite chiavari chairs and gorgeous white orchid and white hydrangea center pieces were placed throughout the outdoor patio. The dance floor was tented with warm white Christmas lights and three modern lanterns were the suspended in the center. This set the stage for the celebration ahead. Bobby and the Aristocats did a phenomenal job keeping everyone on their feet and playing non-stop until 2am. I even was dancing! The energy in that place was off the charts and it was the perfect way to celebrate their wedding. I really want to thank Miriam and Mark and their families for an amazing wedding…I am truly honored to have been a part of their day. Thank you, thank you, thank you…. xoxo- Abby

The weather is finally turning towards the warmer temps here in Florida and I don’t think I’m the only one who isn’t excited to be wearing shorts again! Last Saturday was one of the amazing beautiful days where you couldn’t ask for better weather for a wedding. Amanda and Justin had such weather and when I tell you it couldn’t be more perfect, I’m not lying. I pulled up to the historic Casa Feliz in Winter Park and saw all the vendors happily setting up all of the eclectic details for their wedding. I met up with Amanda McCammon-Winters, my lovely second photographer, (who’s wedding I also had the honor of photographing at Casa Feliz this past November). When I went up to the bride’s room and opened the door. It was like stumbling upon a wedding photographer’s dream! I am greeted with 12 of the most fashionable and stylish “non-bridesmaids” in their gorgeous BCBG / Anthropology, mix-matched dresses. And not to mention, seeing Amanda in her absolutely stunning wedding gown. They were all cheering and laughing, so excited for their best friend and Sister to meet Justin down the aisle. Along with the perfectly fitting Sofia Coppola Champagne cocktails, Amanda gave each of her honorary bridesmaids a handmade handkerchief as their gift, which I have not seen before and thought it to be one of the most sentimental tokens given to each girl. Now, to describe Justin: It’s safe to say that he is completely in love with Amanda and she definitely as well with him. I have had the pleasure of working with them on their amazing engagement shoot a few months back and the one thing that I can say about them is that they are completely there for each other. You know, you can tell when two people are on the same plane. They just look at each other and can know what they are thinking. You might think, “yea right”, but it is easily said that Amanda and Justin perfectly remind me of how love should be. Of how a relationship should be…or rather “should”, how about “can” be. If we only let it. It is not hard for me to write about this wedding because everything just flowed throughout the day. Photographically and emotionally. I along with my other photographer, also named “Amanda” , had the privilege of partaking in this loving family. Again, and I know I say it from time to time, but seriously, this is what gives me goose bumps. To witness and document the vows Amanda and Justin “whispered” into each others ears, to listening to her Father’s most amazing and tearful speech, this truly was genuine on all levels. I haven’t even touched on the wonderful and talented style that Amanda possess and as you can see through the images in this blog post, she along with Justin, did not leave one detail behind. I invite you to scroll through and I hope you get the same feeling as I got when photographing their wedding. “Perfect for each other” – The wedding of Danielle and Brian – February 27th, Orlando

I cannot say enough about how fabulous Danielle and Brian are! Talk about keeping their cool. With the weather calling for 80% chance of rain, I swear, the rain gods answered their prayer as we barely incurred a drop throughout the whole day. Which also was a blessing for Cristy Nielsen and I. We arrived at their home where Danielle and the girls were getting ready. We walked in the door and stumbled right onto the cutest pair of rain boots perfectly set aside by the front door. I have to admit, I was sort of looking forward to photographing Danielle in them, but I was thankful for her that she didn’t have to wear them. Their ceremony took place at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park and reception at the beautiful Country Club of Orlando. Photographing the details was so much fun and I couldn’t say enough about the decor. Two words: silver candelabras! My fave. No detail was left unturned. From the custom menus and table numbers by The 2u Collection, to the rockin’ music from “The Boomers“, and the cake by Anna Cakes, this reception was off the charts to say the least. I was also excited to get to work with my NYC crew, Lisa and Jessy from E-Events and Jeffrey Stoner from Stoner Video. Twice in one month, what fun we had! This wedding really had a great group of family and friends all so very happy for Danielle and Brian. I found myself a time or two on the dance floor wanting to join in on the dancing. After the wedding, Cristy, Jessy, Lisa, and Jeffrey all toasted to a glass of wine and relived their day. Here’s to the lovely couple!!! xoxo-Abby

Undeniable devotion: The wedding of Valerie and Justin – November 15th – Lake Mary Events Center, Lake Mary, FL

Amongst all the amazing weddings I’ve had the opportunity to photograph this past Fall 2009, I really enjoyed being a part of Valerie and Justin’s. These two people are not unfamiliar with being in front of the camera as they met while pursuing their acting careers here in Orlando. They were referred to me by one of my previous brides, the wonderful Kelly and Rob, which I’m SO happy that they did. Thanks guys! Working with Valerie and Justin is pretty easy considering that they’re um…GORGEOUS!! And not to mention, incredibly nice and down-to-earth. While working on their engagement session, I really saw how “perfect” they really were for each other. We had the chance to hang out and dish about the wedding and all the fun and exciting things happening in their lives. Moving onto wedding day, Heather Ahrens, Amy (my fabulous Sister), and I arrived at The Lake Marty Events Center to begin documenting what was sure to be the most amazing day for Val and Justin. And sure enough, it was and so much more. Every little detail was accounted for from the fantastic direction and planning by Blush by Brandee Gaar, to the breathtaking floral provided by Greenery Productions. The color pallet was precise and nicely incorporated throughout the day. The element that stood out to me with their wedding is how much they put each other on a pedestal. From the thoughtful gifts they gave each other to the emotional last dance with just them in the room, you could easily see the amount of unconditional devotion they had between them. It had me saying in my mind, “see, that’s what it’s all about”. Pure respect, admiration, and undeniable devotion. It’s cool to witness this between two people. I feel like I’m getting a VIP pass to see the most intimate, important moments in people’s lives. Thank you Valerie and Justin for inviting me in to be a part of your wedding.
