Kelly and James are married! – December 17th, 2011 – Dubsdread Golf & Country Club – Orlando, FL

December weddings are so beautiful, I’m not sure why that month isn’t more popular for weddings. What better time of year to celebrate your new lives together than with your family and friends and mistletoe? There is a certain sense of warmth and sparkle from twinkling lights and smell of a roaring fire that adds to the overall ambiance to a wedding. This is exactly how Kelly and James’s wedding played out, taking place at the cozy and rustic Dubsdread Golf and Country Club here in Orlando. Wooden rafters, Christmas trees, warm candlelight throughout, and of course, classic Irish music playing in the background as a nod to James’s Irish heritage, all played a part in successfully transforming their wedding into a Winter Wonderland.

The weather had the perfect nip in the air, so fitting for their outdoor ceremony taking place under a huge Oak tree. Kelly and James kept it simple and all about celebrating their love with their family and friends. Meaningful speeches, a beautiful dance dedicated to Kelly’s Father, and lots more dancing and celebration completed their night which ended on that perfect note. Emily and Chris’s Wedding Album

Albums are the final word and end product from our Couples’ weddings. From initial concept to final delivery, it is truly a joy collaborating with our newlyweds on what will be the book that tells the story of the beginning of their lives together. Quite a large responsibility I must say…We take pride and find joy in the entire process and LOVE the reactions when they get to see and hold their wedding album. Emily and Chris chose a simple, square album design covered with our exquisite “bomber jacket” premium leather. A perfect mixture of rustic and chic style, tying in all the elements from their wedding. This is going to look beautiful in their home and for many, many years to come…

Leigh and AJ’s wedding + video featured on The Ring Bearer today!

It’s always lovely finding out that one of your weddings has been featured on a wedding website. Leigh and AJ’s March 2011 wedding has since turned the heads of the ladies at The Ring Bearer in Canada and I am thrilled to be re-posting this on our blog. This wedding was filled with warm candlelight, pale pinks, and roses dripping throughout. Honeymoon in Zurich, Switzerland: Julianne and Phil’s wedding journey continues…

It’s usually the case at the end of a wedding that I am wishing my couples a happy honeymoon and I will see them upon their return. Normally, I am told stories of how they relaxed in Hawaii, hiked in Europe, or explored wine country in Italy, but it’s the greatest experience when I have opportunity to play a role in documenting what I agree to be the best part of the wedding, the honeymoon! Julianne and Phil, realizing the importance of capturing all of these one-of-a-kind events in life, invited me along to photograph a glimpse of their honeymoon beginning in Zurich Switzerland. How can a girl say no? We met up in the beautiful city of Zurich just 2 days after their August 27th wedding here in Winter Park. After a day of travel and acclamation, Julianne, Phil, and I met right in the Old Town District and picked up right where we left off at The Winter Park Farmers Market. Additionally, Julianne brought along her Anne Barge wedding gown provided by Solutions Bridal Orlando, so we could infuse their honeymoon session into a Couture Dress Session as well. Smart thinking Miss Julianne. Needless to say, this now being the third opportunity in 6 months to spend quality time with these two, has been nothing but a joy. Each time I learn more about their interactions and their “isms” toward one another, again providing me even more important knowledge in knowing the art of photographing them. They are not just my “bride and groom” to me, they have become just Jewls and Phil. Two wonderful individuals that brought me along for the ride. Thanks guys for some great memories and more importantly, great images.

The wedding story of Emily and Chris – August 20th, 2011 – Sarasota, Florida

I love shooting destination weddings, especially when I get to travel to my hometown of Sarasota. Not only is it a great excuse to visit the old fam, but it always brings me running into old friends from school growing up. Emily and Chris’s wedding in particular mixed business with pleasure for me as Emily and I attended the same high school and church. So needless to say, I loved having the opportunity to document their wedding 11 years later. Seriously full circle. The rainy and steamy August weather didn’t stop Emily and Chris from having the wedding of their dreams. The rain gods must be on my side because the past two weddings the rain has miraculously stayed away allowing for me to get some beautiful sunlit portraits of my happy couples. Emily’s wedding gown was a deep champagne tone complete with a sweetheart neckline, and beautiful crystal embellishments surrounding the waist. It even had pockets which made me love the dress even more. Her sparkly Jimmy Choos were the perfect addition along with her University of Tennessee garter belt. The bridesmaids wore beautifully rich eggplant empire-waist gowns made of a light, airy chiffon material, perfect for the Florida humidity. The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos with accenting eggplant and purple vests. Emily’s bouquet was beautiful and striking made up of a simple pale purple roses. I am always in favor for one flower throughout the bouquet. The ceremony was luckily held indoors at the Church of the Palms as the rain came and went all while Emily and Chris were exchanging their vows. Afterwards, guests made their way to the historic Spanish-style Field Club to sip on cocktails while we photographed more portraits. After dinner, guests listened to the lovely speeches made by the Made of Honor and Best Man, then danced to the great music from the Sarastoa-based band, My Friend Scott. A stunning sunset completed the amazing day for Emily and Chris, truly a perfect ending. Congratulations!

Sweet & Southern – The Summer Wedding of Julianne & Phil – August 27th, 2011 – Winter Park Florida

Julianne and Phil have come to be a very dear couple to me over the past few months. Starting out with their whimsical and carefree engagement session, featured on both Junebug Weddings and Style Me Pretty, to their colorful Southern and chic, yet understated wedding. Then finally on to their Honeymoon photos captured in none other than Zurich Switzerland. (Images to follow this post). It is safe to say that after all this time and beautiful photographs, even I’m smitten with these two. But the whole reason of why we met and began working together was for their wedding that took place on August 27th, 2011 here in Winter Park, Florida. The morning began with bouts of clouds and rain, thanks to Hurricane Irene, but quickly turned around to be quite an amazing day. My second photographer Jessica and I met Julianne and her eight bridesmaids at her downtown Winter Park loft to find her Anne Barge wedding dress hanging in the sunlit arched window with a pair of yellow Nina shoes perfectly situated atop her Grandmother’s antique chest. I instantly knew this wedding was going to be stylish and whimsical just as their engagement photos proved to be. Yellow and gray tones with vintage elements fit the theme for their wedding. Vibrant mixtures of bright yellow gerber daisies and roses made up Julianne’s bouquet, while Phil’s wore a simple yellow rose for his boutonniere. Her bridesmaids wore short gray dresses, perfect for the Florida heat in August. Each girl wore their own color shoes, something that Julianne encouraged to highlight their personalities. Same with the groomsmen: gray suites with their choice of sock color. Truly a thoughtful and unique twist to break away from the standard yellow and gray theme. I can safely say that being a bridesmaid several times over, we appreciate this! The ceremony was a lovely one and was officiated by Julianne’s Father at The Knowles Chapel at Rollins College. The celebration continued at the Winter Park Farmers Market while guests sipped on spike sweet tea out of mason jars with yellow and gray striped straws…a perfect signature cocktail. Terri and her team from Tickled Pink Brides perfectly transformed the market into a swanky room with a southern twist again incorporating harvest tables with gray linens and white folding chairs. Understated, yet elegant. Arthur’s catering did a magnificent job bringing home the Southern flair by serving ever-so-fitting chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits martini-style. White paper lanterns swayed in the warm night sky while guests listened to captivating speeches and danced the Summer evening away. Photographs aside, I was truly happy to see Julianne and Phil married without a hitch. These two individuals are kind-hearted and so positive, I was happy and honored to have been the gal to capture all of these unforgettable memories. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Matt, Danielle, and Baby Aubrie…

I’ve been blessed with some amazing maternity and newborn shoots this Summer. I have to admit, it has been a nice break from the hectic nature of weddings. Danielle and Matt, dear friends of mine, welcomed their newest addition, Aubrie in early July. I visited them at their beautiful home and fell in love with the lighting and simplicity of their decor. It made it easy for me to effortlessly begin snapping away. My favorite is their dog, Bosco, such a good sport. You could tell he was dying for attention…something Im sure he is reluctantly getting used now that baby Aubrie is around.
