One of the most precious perks about being a photographer is having the opportunity (and honor) to become a part of my clients’ lives. From the engagement session to their wedding, to the first newborn shoot, and so on, you end up growing up with their growing family. I photographed the lovely Nichole and Jim on their wedding day in 2009. I was tickled when they contacted me four years later to document the next milestone in their life, their newborn baby girl Madison. Below are a few of my favorites from their newborn session.

Happy Friday to all! I am so excited and honored to share this feature I photographed for none other than The Wall Street Journal. The article called “Go To Your Room!” is about how teenagers are changing interior design by creating “Teen Suites” consisting of teen lounges, hangout areas, and offices for homework. I met up with two lovely teenagers in Ormonde Beach, Florida and photographed them in their unique suites. The cover image below features a 12 year old girl hanging out in her “Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe” inspired closet. Truly unique and a great way to encourage imagination through interior design. It’s a great article and definitely encourage you to take a few minutes and read.

Oh So Pretty! Lindsey and Chip’s Wedding – April 6th – Winter Park, Florida

April was one fabulous whirl wind of three Ah-mazing weddings that I had the honor of photographing. And it all started with the beautiful and so sweet Lindsey and Chip. These two couldn’t stop smiling, it was so sweet to see. Everything was perfect. The weather, Lindsey’s dress, the happiness between Lindsey and Chip, the ceremony and reception…I could go on and on. Jessica, Sarah, and I had a ball documenting their day. The getting ready images were taken at Lindsey and Chip’s brand new house, something very special to them. Chip even surprised Lindsey a few weeks earlier with a custom wooden bench with “The Wooten’s” branded on the back…what a meaningful wedding gift. Her bridesmaids wore lilac dresses, such an iconic “April” color. The groomsmen were handsome in light gray suits with pink peony boutonnieres. It was like everyone stepped out of a wedding magazine. The ceremony was held at the historic Knowles Chapel at Rollins College in Winter Park. Miles of glass hurricanes with candles lined the aisle awaiting for Lindsey to walk down it. More candles and candelabras decorated the reception at The Interlachen Country Club. The light was so warm and romantic and the gold chivari chairs added to the glow of the room. Dancing, toasts, two fabulous cakes, and one heartfelt send off made up the stunning reception for The Wootens. I feel so blessed to have been a part of it and wishing nothing but the best for these two lovely, lovely people!

Favorite “Engagement” Friday – Melissa and Chris

Okay, so I must admit, it’s been years since I’ve toured all of the parks at Disney. I mean, just because I live in Orlando does not mean I’m ALWAYS at Disney. It’s kind of like living in NYC and hanging out in Times Square all the time…it just doesn’t happen. Well when the adorable Melissa and Chris proposed we photographed their Engagement Session at none other than Disney’s Magic Kingdom, I gladly accepted the challenge. And boy I felt like I was a little kid again. Instead of being in awe over the cool rides and endless candy, I was in awe over all of the beautiful light and fabulous backdrops that I would be photographing these two with! It’s true what they say, Disney really is one of the happiest places on earth, especially for photographers. But don’t worry, I still won’t rock the “ears”…doesn’t go with my hair.

Happy Friday to all! It couldn’t be more beautiful here in sunny Orlando so I thought it fitting to feature this”refreshing” image today. It felt like it was just last week when I was sitting across the table from Julianne and Phil photographing them in a local bier garten on their honeymoon in Zurich, Switzerland….ahhh memories! So, now that the weekend is finally here, let’s crack open a cold one and spend time with the ones you adore most, just like they did!

“Decadent in Details” The Wedding Story of Jackie and Enrique – The Biltmore Hotel, Miami

Photographing weddings in Miami is always an experience. Whether we’re in the infamous Art Deco area of South Beach or surrounded by historical Mediterranean landmarks, the images photographed are always and forever unique. Kate and I arrived at the stunning Biltmore Hotel, a historical landmark in itself. The hotel was built in 1926 and has housed presidents and royalty throughout the years. It is truly a sight to see and would suggest everyone to go and visit. Jackie and Enrique’s wedding was nothing short of amazing. No detail was left un-turned which goes to show how organized and thoughtful the couple was when planning their wedding. It was all about family and friends for them and for everyone to have an unforgettable time. And not to forget even their furry friend, Paris, Jackie’s adorable Pomeranian pup. Even Paris had special attire for that day. Seriously, too cute! Their ceremony was held just steps away from The Biltmore at The Coral Gables Congregational Church. Lined with tall palm trees, guests were greeted at the church with the beautiful sounds of bagpipes, one of my favorites. The ceremony took place as the sun was setting and just as the last ray dissipated, Jackie and Enrique exited with the illuminating glow of sparklers from their guests. After some fabulous portraits throughout the Biltmore grounds, it was time to party. Francesca Gonzalez with Events by Francesca and floral designer Parrish Designs did one heck of a job transforming the room into an absolute dream. Deep reds, golds, and bright orange hues painted the scene. From rich uplighting to ornate candelabras, their reception stayed true to the Miami-style spirit. This wedding was killer and a blast to photograph. Jackie and Enrique are truly one amazing couple and I wish them all the best for years to come!

Jenn and David’s New Beginning

Spring has sprung and the world is changing. We are all enjoying the smell of orange blossoms, birds chirping ,and fresh starts are happening all around us. One of the most angelic new beginnings of all is welcoming a new baby into the world. Capturing the excitement and anticipation of a soon-to-be Mom and Dad is always a delight due to the fact that there is nothing entirely like it. The new parents’ energy fills each frame with a feeling that cannot be adequately expressed in words, but comes bursting through in photography. Jenn and David’s maternity session was an exquisite example of the vitality the photographs can have as a result of the anticipation of a new beginning.We are happy to say Jenn and David welcomed a handsome and healthy baby boy, Mateo, into the world shortly after we had the opportunity to capture this session, and they are now embarking on the life long journey together.
