I really enjoyed my recent Sunday afternoon hanging out with the lovely Kristin and Jonathan…so easy-going, kind, and might I add quite fashionable. These two love-birds are getting married next October at beautiful Hammock Beach Resort in the Palm Coast. Can’t wait to capture more of their love and style!

Yes…that time of year has come to gather the family together for the annual family portrait! And what better time of year to do it than the Holidays? The weather has finally cooled down, fall fashion is in full effect, and the smell of pumpkin spice lattes has emulated from our local Starbucks coffee shops. I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing the lovely Katsur Family for the second year in a row and what an adorable group this is. Jessica and Todd’s Engagement Session – Washington D.C.

Engagement photos are a very personal thing, so when Jessica and Todd decided to have their Engagement Session photographed where they live and work, it was a no brainer. Hence, my arrival in beautiful Washington, D.C. It is even more personal as Jessica and I went to high school together back in Sarasota, FL. We both thrived and excelled in our journalism class and from working on our school paper the Ram Page. I as the photo editor (I know how predictable), And Jessica as an editor. It was there that I feel we had our first inkling of what we wanted to do when we grew up. I will say that it’s pretty neat circling back around almost 12 years later and seeing what we have accomplished in this short period of time. Me with my photography business and Jessica, now a successful lawyer for The Republican National Committee. I must say I am quite proud of us! We all met in a quaint little park in a quiet suburb of Alexandria where Todd proposed to Jessica on one of the red wooden benches, and then meandered from the park to an adorable wine and cheese shop to continue photographing and catching up on each other’s lives. Our last and final stop was a little more “iconic D.C.” at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I was in love with all of the beautiful marble and vastness of the columns and staircases. I was very thankful the weather held out as the Autumnal gray skies provided beautiful light. We wrapped up the evening in Old Town Alexandria, drinking wine and toasting to a successful Engagement Session…a perfect ending! I am very much looking forward to documenting their Spring wedding…wishing you all the best Jessica and Todd! See you next year! xoxo-Abby

Deirdre & Joe’s Destination Wedding – Cancun, Mexico – 9.24.11

This wedding season has been filled with many travels near and far and I’m happy to announce, it hasn’t stopped. Lately, my travels took me and my photography pal Cristy Nielsen to Cancun, Mexico for the lovely wedding of sweet Deirdre and Joe. Their wedding weekend was jam packed of festivities all of which kept everyone out till the wee hours of the morning. And sure enough, they bounced back and were right into celebrating with the happy couple. Their wedding and reception was held at Excellence Playa Mujures an amazing 5 star resort in Cancun, Mexico. Not only was this resort aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the service was impeccable, not to mention everything was all inclusive so no one had to worry about bringing their wallet. Ideal when entertaining guests at a destination wedding. Deirdre wore a simple lace Dolce & Gabbana gown, perfectly elegant and light enough for a beach ceremony. Her three bridesmaids were the perfect accompaniment wearing rich purple dresses by Pretty Maids. Joe kept it classic and simple as well wearing a Ermeneglido Zenga suit while his groomsmen wore light purple button downs and white linen pants from Jeremy Argyle NYC. Tropical flowers were placed throughout and deep hues of purple created an overall statement for their reception. The clouds rolled in just as Deirdre and Joe were being introduced and just as they were beginning the first dance, the sky opened up and it began raining. Instead of everyone running for cover, they all remained in their chairs while cheering on Deirdre and Joe to continue in their first dance. Truly one of the most romantic and unforgettable moments I’ve experience while documenting the first dance. As you can see from the images below, the champagne continued pouring and the party kept going. Thank you Deirdre and Joe for an awesome destination wedding…I will never forget Cancun.

Honeymoon in Zurich, Switzerland: Julianne and Phil’s wedding journey continues…

It’s usually the case at the end of a wedding that I am wishing my couples a happy honeymoon and I will see them upon their return. Normally, I am told stories of how they relaxed in Hawaii, hiked in Europe, or explored wine country in Italy, but it’s the greatest experience when I have opportunity to play a role in documenting what I agree to be the best part of the wedding, the honeymoon! Julianne and Phil, realizing the importance of capturing all of these one-of-a-kind events in life, invited me along to photograph a glimpse of their honeymoon beginning in Zurich Switzerland. How can a girl say no? We met up in the beautiful city of Zurich just 2 days after their August 27th wedding here in Winter Park. After a day of travel and acclamation, Julianne, Phil, and I met right in the Old Town District and picked up right where we left off at The Winter Park Farmers Market. Additionally, Julianne brought along her Anne Barge wedding gown provided by Solutions Bridal Orlando, so we could infuse their honeymoon session into a Couture Dress Session as well. Smart thinking Miss Julianne. Needless to say, this now being the third opportunity in 6 months to spend quality time with these two, has been nothing but a joy. Each time I learn more about their interactions and their “isms” toward one another, again providing me even more important knowledge in knowing the art of photographing them. They are not just my “bride and groom” to me, they have become just Jewls and Phil. Two wonderful individuals that brought me along for the ride. Thanks guys for some great memories and more importantly, great images.

I find it even more of an amazing gift when being able to use your craft to document these beautiful and unforgettable moments. Bryson Anthony Liga is baby #2 for my Brother Tony and his lovely wife Gina. I’m so happy for you both, love you!

Matt, Danielle, and Baby Aubrie…

I’ve been blessed with some amazing maternity and newborn shoots this Summer. I have to admit, it has been a nice break from the hectic nature of weddings. Danielle and Matt, dear friends of mine, welcomed their newest addition, Aubrie in early July. I visited them at their beautiful home and fell in love with the lighting and simplicity of their decor. It made it easy for me to effortlessly begin snapping away. My favorite is their dog, Bosco, such a good sport. You could tell he was dying for attention…something Im sure he is reluctantly getting used now that baby Aubrie is around. Thanks Matt and Danielle for having me over to document such a precious time in your lives. xoxo -Abby
