I really enjoyed my recent Sunday afternoon hanging out with the lovely Kristin and Jonathan…so easy-going, kind, and might I add quite fashionable. These two love-birds are getting married next October at beautiful Hammock Beach Resort in the Palm Coast. Can’t wait to capture more of their love and style!

Jessica and Todd’s Engagement Session – Washington D.C.

Engagement photos are a very personal thing, so when Jessica and Todd decided to have their Engagement Session photographed where they live and work, it was a no brainer. Hence, my arrival in beautiful Washington, D.C. It is even more personal as Jessica and I went to high school together back in Sarasota, FL. We both thrived and excelled in our journalism class and from working on our school paper the Ram Page. I as the photo editor (I know how predictable), And Jessica as an editor. It was there that I feel we had our first inkling of what we wanted to do when we grew up. I will say that it’s pretty neat circling back around almost 12 years later and seeing what we have accomplished in this short period of time. Me with my photography business and Jessica, now a successful lawyer for The Republican National Committee. I must say I am quite proud of us! We all met in a quaint little park in a quiet suburb of Alexandria where Todd proposed to Jessica on one of the red wooden benches, and then meandered from the park to an adorable wine and cheese shop to continue photographing and catching up on each other’s lives. Our last and final stop was a little more “iconic D.C.” at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I was in love with all of the beautiful marble and vastness of the columns and staircases. I was very thankful the weather held out as the Autumnal gray skies provided beautiful light. We wrapped up the evening in Old Town Alexandria, drinking wine and toasting to a successful Engagement Session…a perfect ending! I am very much looking forward to documenting their Spring wedding…wishing you all the best Jessica and Todd! See you next year! xoxo-Abby

One of the many reasons why I love photographing in Winter Park is that there is something about the light that just effortlessly shines through the trees and perfectly onto the faces of my couples that I am capturing. In the Spring and Fall, Park Avenue is alive with locals enjoying all that beautiful Winter Park has to offer. Not only are there vast green patches of park to play and picnic in, there’s also the Winter Park Farmers’ Market every Saturday just steps from my studio. Ahhh bliss! A couple weeks back, I met up with Julianne and Phil, who not only live in Winter Park, but are also getting married at the Farmers’ Market, a fabulously rustic venue perfect for intimate / vintage-chic weddings. So, it was a no brainer to stick with the ongoing nod to this lovely city, and photograph their engagement session right here in what we locals call, the WP. I swear they stepped right out of the pages of the J. Crew catalog. Which is great, because I LOVE their clothes. Needless to say, Julianne and Phil are such loving, kind, and shall I say easy on the eyes…I was like a kid in a candy store. Their style is the perfect blend of 1950′s prep combined with a nautical twist…a style which I totally dig. We traipsed in and around the neighborhood streets and the historic Casa Feliz, chit chatting and getting to know one another, all while the sun and I worked together on capturing these lovely photos you see below. Every once in a while you need an update. Whether it’s updating your phone, your calendar, or even your wardrobe…it always feels refreshing to update. For me it was my website!! I am happy to say, that with the help of my fabulous web designer Jessica Friend, we have majorly updated and quite frankly gave the whole website an entire face-lift! Ligaphotography.com’s Wedding website is complete with up-do-date Wedding, Engagement, Day After, Couture Dress, Destination, and Boudoir galleries. Deirdre + Joe are getting married!

I’ve known the lovely Deirdre since our time at Florida State University. She was in the same sorority as my Sister Amy and my dear friend Stephanie. Needless to say, we definitely went to some great parties together and had some memorable times. Deirdre is super sweet and very fashionable, and Joe is funny, handsome, and absolutely adores Deirdre. I drove over to downtown Tampa last week to do their engagement photos. We went to the park just outside her apartment high rise. We had nothing but blue skies, green grass, and can I mention a FABULOUS red dress??? I had all faith that Deirdre would have the perfect outfit. We hung out and chatted about their wedding this coming September in Mexico, which I am looking forward to capturing more gorgeous portraits of them in their gown and tux.
