After Rana and Samir’s South Beach Engagement session, Heather Ahrens and I headed further down South to The Grove Isle Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove to prep for Vanessa and Randy’s wedding. This charming, “village like” town is one of the most enchanting places I’ve ever been. Trees line the streets and old Spanish architecture makes for an old world charm mixed with the warmth of Miami. Rain did not hinder the day and actually made it all the more passionate and romantic. Vanessa paid attention to every detail from her elegant Vera Wang gown and Oscar De La Renta shoes, to her dazzling jewelry and headpiece. Randy was all the more cool and calm before the wedding rocking his classic tuxedo. Together, they fit. Simple as that. The ceremony was held at the historic Plymouth Congregational Church. Built in 1897, this church was the perfect combination of grace and beauty. As their ceremony occurred, cracks of thunder and rain howled throughout. You could not have painted a more romantic scene. Afterwards, Heather and I headed back to the Grove Isle Hotel to capture details of the reception. Miami’s “heat” took on new meaning with the “glow” from the candlelight as Vanessa and Randy’s reception was dripping with vases of cream hydrangeas and crystal chandeliers. After dinner, friends and family were served cuban coffee and danced the night away to live salsa music. Vanessa and Randy couldn’t be nicer and they are so sweet together! Seriously a great couple. Congratulations!! xoxo Abby
