“Rustic-Glamour” A Vintage-Inspired Couture Dress Shoot….

Even though Summer is almost over…I had to blog about my Vintage-Inspired Couture Dress Shoot that we created this past Spring. You may remember this being recently featured on Style Me Pretty’s blog, but I wanted to do the full post plus behind the scene footage as promised..
One of my favorite things is to collaborate with my fabulous local vendors and create something inspiring. I have so many ideas in my head, but this was the first one that I HAD to execute. This “vintage-inspired” Couture Dress session showcased some of the latest designer gowns in a contrasted natural environment. The glamour of high fashion designer gowns combined with an organic field-setting posed for an intimate take between high fashion and a rustic atmosphere. Accessories inspired from the 1930′s told a tale of the feminine and romantic time, kissed with warm sunlight. Brittany Sobering with Tickled Pink Brides, perfectly styled the natural setting with distressed Asian-inspired furniture, decorated with whimsical details, such as rustic bird cages and mirrors, to eclectic tea cups and delicate meringues. Makeup and hair were created by Simone Rosas with Makeover Station, along with styling from Solutions Bridal Designer House. Overall this modern and vintage inspired photo shoot was a glimpse into the beauty of organic simplicity. A special thanks to our lovely models Tiffany and Alyssa for doing an amazing job…thank you, thank you, thank you!

“Summer in the City” – The engagement session of Carolyn and Jeremy – New York, NY

This Summer has been filled with some amazing experiences, locations, and weather to say the least! Late last month I met Carolyn and Jeremy up in their hometown of NYC to capture their engagement photos.. They are getting married in White Plains / Westchester area this September 11th at a beautiful location called “Le Chateau”. I love doing engagement portraits in New York as every corner I turn, is inspiration for an image. I was also so excited to finally meet the lovely Carolyn and Jeremy! We have been talking via phone / Skype for the past 3 or 4 months, and I felt like I already knew them. It was great to put a face to the name….finally! My fabulous and quite stylish assistant Jessica did an amazing job helping me. The weather and lighting were perfect, I was so excited and thankful. I don’t even think I broke a sweat throughout the entire shoot. We began in Central Park, then headed to High Line Park, end ended in the ever famous Meat-Packing District… What I remember most was how much fun we all had getting to know each other and talking about everything under the sun. I love how laid back and funny Carolyn and Jeremy are… It was truly a pleasure spending time and photographing them. I can’t wait for your wedding in September!! It’s literally right around the corner! …xoxo Abby

Little Miss “Golightly”….

I used to LOVE playing dress up as a little girl….and it’s still fun even at my ripe old age of 29… A few weeks ago, I photographed the young and quite sophisticated Lily McCullen.
This is probably about my 4th or 5th time photographing Lily and it’s always so much fun! This time, her Mother Jane and I thought it to be a fabulous idea to r the famous “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” scene with Audrey Hepburn. Jane, owner of a local hair salon styled her to be the perfect little “Audrey” right down to the tiara… Here are a couple of my faves… xoxo – Abby

“Black Tie Romance” The wedding of Melissa and Sean – June 19th – Waldorf Astoria – Orlando

Melissa and Sean’s wedding was held a the new Waldorf here in Orlando and was nothing short of elegant. We had tons of fun capturing all of the fabulous details. From her glamorous Reem Acra gown right now to the shoes…it was all beautiful. Melissa was accessorized with just the right amount of jewelry and topped everything off with an old hollywood bird cage veil. The ceremony was decorated with gold chiavari chairs with candles lit throughout. Everything was held indoors after a smart call was made by the E-Events team to bring everything indoors. Just after the wedding ceremony ended, the skies opened up and a huge thunderstorm blew thew….It was pouring! It didn’t shake Melissa and Sean because they were so happy and excited to be married! Guests enjoyed cocktails while we photographed Melissa and Sean’s portraits. Lisa led them into the ballroom to unveil what they had created and the look on their face was priceless. Luscious pink flowers and hydrangeas provided by Botanica, were pouring out of crystal candelabras. Gold linens and deep pink uplighting finished the room to result in absolutely an exquisite atmosphere. The band was cued and as guests walked in, Melissa and Sean took the dance floor. Quite an entrance I must say. Thanks to the fabulous vendors for making their wedding a memorable success! Planner: E-Events, Venue: The Waldorf Astoria, Second Photographer: Cristy Nielsen, Videography: Stoner Video, Floral Design: Botanica, Hair / Makeup: Marjorie Robinson, String Quartet: Beautiful Music, Band: HYPR

“Sweet and Spontaneous” The wedding of Christy and Travis – June 13th – The Ritz-Carlton Orlando

Truly such a fabulous couple that I have gotten the pleasure to have gotten to know and becomes friends with! Christy and Travis couldn’t be more of a laid back couple….All is right in their world. They had an intimate ceremony and dinner at the Ritz-Carlton here in Orlando. Christy wore a stunning Badgely Mishka gown with a beautiful bouquet of lavender roses. Simple and sweet. Travis and his groomsmen wore gray suits with pale pink ties with a lavender rose on the lapel. Their ceremony was lovely underneath an outdoor gazebo with pale sheers blowing in the breeze. Travis incorporated a wonderful poem by E.E. Cummings that I thought was one of the most beautiful poems I’ve ever heard. After the cake was cut, Christy , Travis, and their guests sat down for an intimate dinner consisting just of close friends and family. The sun was setting outside and I can definitely say it was the perfect ending to capturing their wedding. Love you two!! xoxo – Abby
Thanks to the following vendors for making their wedding so perfect: The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, Makeover Station, Weddings Unique, Flourish Productions, and Norman’s Restaurant

e.e. cummings (1894-1962)

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my hear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling

i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life: which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your hear(i carry it in my hear)
