Amanda and Alex’s “Chevron Chic” Wedding – April 14th – Orlando, Florida

Bold orange hues, subtle gray colors, and a modern chevron design made up the “brand” for Amanda and Alexandre’s wedding. And quite fitting for their style. We met our lovely bride at the swanky Grand Bohemian hotel to begin documenting their story. Bold, directional window-light mixed with deep red velvet couches and drapes made it a very dramatic setting for Amanda’s getting ready portraits. Which I think blended perfectly with the style of their wedding. Amanda and Alex exchanged vows at the lovely Rollins Chapel in Winter Park, Alex’s college Alma Mater.
Over joyed with emotion and happiness, Amanda and Alex were ear to ear as they walked down the aisle together as newlyweds. It was time to party and celebrate! After some fabulous “city chic” portraits downtown, we headed to the 20th floor of The Citrus Club to begin photographing all of the unique details of their reception. Floor to ceiling windows, drum chandeliers, gray linens, and large vases boasting of bright orange tulips and roses filled the room, perfecting Amanda and Alex’s vision and style. Guests cheered on the happy couple as they were officially introduced as husband and wife. After many heart-felt toasts and a few happy tears shed, the celebration continued throughout the evening with a lot of dancing and a bouquet toss. The party concluded with a farewell showering of orange and ivory rose petals on Amanda and Alex as they quickly hopped in the elevator and headed to their honeymoon in Italy the next day. I’m so happy for you both! And thank you for giving me the honor of documenting such an important and beautiful moment in your lives. Xoxo -Abby

A special thank you to my second photographer Gian Carlo Brand and Photography assistant, Kate McLean for helping make their day an unforgettable success!

Solutions Bridal Designer House “Look Book” photo shoot

I recently had the honor of photographing the new Look Book for Solutions Bridal Designer House here in Orlando. I teamed up with the amazingly talented hair & makeup artist, Simone Rosas of Makeover Station, along with styling masters, Tali and Kayleigh of Solutions.  We always have such fun collaborating together on these shoots.  As an artist and photographer, having the opportunity to be creative and possess the “anything goes” attitude in my shoots, refreshes my creative juices. So, instead of an environment, I opted to photograph our beautiful models in front of a few colorful and textured backdrops to keep the focus solely on the dresses and accessories. Since the shoot took place at my house, we also took advantage of some of the areas inside, including my lovely vintage claw-foot bathtub. (Yes, that is the one feature that sold me when house hunting…)  A special thank you to our fabulous, sweet, and beautiful models, Lily, Carrie, and Lindsey…you all were so wonderful to work with!  xoxo – Abby

MODELS:  Lily, Carrie, and Lindsey

PHOTOGRAPHY ASSISTANT:  Kate McLean

Introducing sweet and sassy Lily…

…we had so much fun playing with different accessories and props. I LOVE the knit gloves we added to her ensemble which I purchased at an antique store over a decade ago…I knew there would be a use for them, eventually.

…Playful and energetic are two words to describe Lily’s personality.

…and oh so pretty.

A classic Etiquette book from 1950…

A perfect match with Lily’s eyeglasses and dress.

And onto a stunning hot pink brocade and velvet backdrop by Drop it Modern.

Tali and Kayleigh played with glamourous gold accessories and an over-the-top veil…totally fit the mood we were going for.

And now introducing Carrie, so classic and graceful.

…and might I add delightful.

and SO angelic…

And introducing Lindsey: fabulous and fierce.

…and an absolute joy to work with.

and introducing Mr. Rook, my handsome boy.

and lastly, the claw-foot tub series…

with the most amazing light.

Aneska and Colin’s Wedding – April 7th – The Ritz-Carlton, Orlando

The weather couldn’t be better for Aneska and Colin’s beautiful outdoor wedding at The Ritz-Carlton here in Orlando. We began our day by meeting Aneska up in her bridal suite where her stunning Pronovias wedding gown and Jimmy Choos were anxiously waiting to be photographed. This wedding had so many lovely details it was very easy to get lost in photographing every little thing. One of the special details we photographed during the getting ready hour was a beautiful picture of Aneska’s Grandmother in a frame. I found an area of beautiful light, (something easy to do in the Ritz), and placed this picture frame amongst Aneska’s wedding jewelry, garter, shoes, and perfume. Something I thought to be rather special and symbolic for Aneska to remember. Shortly after she was dressed, her groom Colin made his way up for their “first look” moment in the peaceful silence of their wedding suite. With Aneska’s permission of course, I quietly hid in the bathroom and photographed their first moment of seeing each other for the first time. It was quite touching and the light was amazing. Aneska’s bouquet was another detail that we loved. She had gardenias placed throughout which smelled so good! Gardenias are my absolute favorite and have such a potent and amazing smell. Their ceremony took place under a gazebo draped with white shears just before sundown. The sky was a faint blue the clouds casted a pink hue, perfect lighting for an outdoor ceremony.  Guests sipped on cocktails and witnessed Aneska and Colin exchange vows. The reception details were quite stunning with tones of lilac, silver, and ivory throughout. As the night set in, the candlelight grew more apparent and set a romantic tone to the whole reception. The Mojito was the signature cocktail and guests were entertained by an authentic Panamanian dance performance, a nod to Aneska’s Panamanian heritage. After dinner and a little bit of dancing, everyone headed indoors to an “After Glow” party to finish the night off with lots more dancing to a blend of  hip-hop, old school rap, and classic rock by DJ Lyv Wyr. Aneska and Colin truly had one beautiful wedding and I am so blessed to have had the joy of photographing it. Congratulations to you both!  xoxo – Abby

Pretty & Playful…Leila and Erik’s “Day After” Session – Winter Park, Florida

Leila and Erik exude happiness and humor, two traits that I love seeing when photographing couples. We spent an afternoon hanging out and taking photographs in some of the most beautiful light I’ve ever seen at Casa Feliz in Winter Park.  It was seriously not work for me, we all had a great time and captured so many lovely photographs. A special thanks to the beautiful and historic Casa Feliz and Rebekah Singleton for her stunning makeup! xoxo – Abby

Liz + Mike are engaged!

It’s such a treat when I have the opportunity to photograph such warm-hearted people. Liz and Mike are just that and have such a great energy. We started off their classic Winter Park engagement session right outside my studio on Park Ave. The roses and gardenias were in full bloom and you could smell the amazing fragrance everywhere. Liz and Mike’s style is a mixture of classic prep with a sophisticated lines, with a laid back twist. I couldn’t get enough of the blue hues and their striking blue eyes. A perfect match! Later on, they dressed down with another nod to the blue tones, but more casual, perfect for their walk in the woods with their adorable doggies Colton and Starry. We ended the evening by catching up over fabulous food at The Ravenous Pig, a ridiculously wonderful gastropub here in town. Thanks Liz and Mike for a lovely afternoon in Winter Park!, see you in December!!   xoxo – Abby
